There is a moment, just after breakfast, when a coastal village belongs to itself. Shutters open. The first boats return. Someone moves a chair into a small patch of shade. You could hurry to the next view, or you could stay a while.
Our favorite days begin with one small intention: a walk to the water, a market, a conversation with the person making your coffee. The rest is left open. A long lunch becomes a longer swim. A side street becomes your favorite memory.
Look beyond the busiest viewpoint. Choose a small hotel with a host who knows the village. Ask where they would go on a day off. And when you find a table you love, don’t feel obliged to give it up for the next place.
A slower journey is not an empty one. It is a journey with enough room to notice.
